These terms are the agreement between you and Yan-Kai Huang ("Zenko", "we", "us") for using the Zenko app. Please read them — by using Zenko, you agree to them.
At a glance
- Zenko is a wellness and reflection tool. It is not medical care, therapy, or a crisis service.
- The companion's replies are generated by AI and can be wrong — use your own judgment.
- Your first conversations are free; after that a subscription is required. Subscriptions renew automatically and are managed through the App Store or Google Play.
- These terms are governed by the laws of California.
Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account or using Zenko, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please don't use the app.
Who can use Zenko
You must be at least 13 years old to use Zenko. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use it only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. By using the app, you confirm you meet these requirements and can enter into this agreement.
What Zenko is
Zenko is an AI companion for personal reflection — a private space to write, think through your day, and build small positive habits, with gentle encouragement. It is a general wellbeing and self-improvement tool for your own personal use.
Zenko is not medical, mental-health, or crisis care
Zenko does not provide medical, psychological, or professional advice, and is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. The companion is an AI, not a therapist, doctor, or counselor, and nothing it says should be treated as professional advice or diagnosis.
Zenko is not an emergency or crisis service. If you are in crisis, thinking about harming yourself or others, or facing a medical emergency, do not use Zenko — contact your local emergency services or a crisis hotline in your area right away. The app may show crisis resources when a message suggests you are in danger, but it cannot recognize every crisis and no one monitors your conversations.
You should never disregard or delay seeking professional advice because of something you read in the app. Any actions you take based on the companion's responses are your own responsibility.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in secure and for activity under your account. Please provide accurate information and let us know if you believe your account has been compromised.
Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation
- New accounts get a limited number of free conversations. After that, starting a new conversation requires a subscription.
- Zenko offers auto-renewing subscriptions. These are sold and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and payment is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel a subscription any time in your Apple or Google account settings.
- Any free trial converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends.
- Deleting your Zenko account may not cancel a store subscription. To be sure you stop being billed, cancel it in the App Store or Google Play.
- To keep the service fair and affordable, every account — free or subscribed — has usage limits, such as how many messages can be sent in an hour, a day, or a month. If you reach one, you can continue once it resets.
- Prices may change; we'll give notice as required, and material changes take effect at your next renewal. Refunds, where available, are handled by the App Store or Google Play under their policies.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Zenko for anything unlawful or harmful;
- attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or abuse the service, or access it in unauthorized ways;
- upload other people's private or sensitive information without their permission;
- rely on the app for emergencies or professional advice; or
- resell or commercially exploit the service.
Your content and the AI's responses
You keep ownership of what you write in Zenko. You grant us a limited license to store and process your content to operate, support, and improve the service — including sending it to our AI provider (Anthropic or Google) to generate replies, and letting the developer read conversations to handle support requests, investigate problems, and improve the companion's responses, as described in the Privacy Policy. The companion's responses are generated automatically, are provided "as is," may be inaccurate or inappropriate, and are for your personal use; you are responsible for how you use them.
Intellectual property
Zenko, including its software, design, and content (other than your own inputs), belongs to Yan-Kai Huang or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose. All other rights are reserved.
Third-party services
Zenko relies on third-party services (such as the app stores and our AI providers). Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
Disclaimers
Zenko is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the companion's output will be accurate or suitable for your needs.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Yan-Kai Huang will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of Zenko. To the extent we are found liable, our total liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or USD $50.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Yan-Kai Huang from claims and expenses arising out of your misuse of Zenko or your violation of these terms.
Termination
You may stop using Zenko and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or to protect the service and its users. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive termination.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in California will have jurisdiction over any dispute. We encourage you to contact us first at kojjyan.official@gmail.com so we can try to resolve things informally.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Effective" date above, and for material changes we'll let you know in the app. Continued use of Zenko after an update means you accept the revised terms.
